Witches aren't mythical

"Witches aren't some mythological creature. Nor do they shoot fireballs out of their hands. They're normal people like you and me that have a legit practice. It's about time we treat them as such."

Seeing the recent DA poll has pissed me off a bit. It's like DeviantArt and even Gaiaonline don't acknowledge that witches are in existence. Now I'm not a witch but a Pagan however it seems that the practice of witchcraft is a bit of a joke to some people.

Look regardless of what you think, witches do exist and their practice can be described as no different than praying or any other spiritual act. So they have candles, tools and write spells in the form of poems. So they like to be more vocal and showy in their practice and make altars and such. That's how they worship their Gods or build energy if they're secular. That's fine.

But can we stop acting like they're some mythical unicorn because Hollywood decides that magic should be about actual fireballs and demon worship. (Well it can be, but more often than not it's not about demon worship. Half of the new witches out there maintain the creed of "An it harm none do what ye will."
